A fervent singer-songwriter since the age of 10, Emeli Sandé got her first big break whilst still a teenager. However, she put her music career on hold and embarked on a six-year degree in medicine. Then in 2010, Emeli decided to take time out from her medical studies to dedicate herself to her music full-time, signing a record contract with Virgin Records and beginning work on her debut album ‘Our Version of Events’. The album revealed her to be an uncompromising creative force in the vein of Nina Simone, Joni Mitchell, and Lauryn Hill. ‘Our version of Events’ has since sold over 4 million albums world-wide with over 2.3 million sold in the UK alone, and was the biggest selling album of 2012. Emeli has won numerous accolades including three prestigious BRIT Awards, two Ivor Novello Awards and was the only artist to be invited to play both the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympics. Emeli’s album ‘Our Version of Events’ stayed in the Top 10 for 62 weeks, thus breaking the previous record held by the Beatles.
In recognition of the album and campaign success, Decisive Management were presented by Emeli herself with Music Week’s ‘Manager of The Year Award’ for 2013.
